Fowles Wine triumphant in the 2010 Visy Great Australian Shiraz Challenge
Strathbogie Winemakers Fowles Wine has won Australia’s most prestigious wine award The 2010 Visy Great Australian Shiraz Challenge Trophy with its 2008 Ladies who Shoot their Lunch Shiraz~ 2nd Place ~ Saracen Estates – 2008 Shiraz
~ 3rd Place ~ Dorrien Estate – 2007 Black Wattle Mt Benson Shiraz
The Graphix Labels Trophy for Best Shiraz Under $25.00 was awarded to Koonowla Wines for its 2006 Koonowla Shiraz
Winners were announced at a Gala Black Tie Dinner at the historic Tahbilk Winery on Friday, 5 November. 411 individual entries from 299 exhibitors competed in the 16th Challenge with vintages ranging from 2003 – 2010. The event received strong support from SA, VIC and WA, however for the first time in the Challenge history the 2010 Trophy was awarded to a Victorian Winemaker, Fowles Wine.
